Clement clan update

Let's start off by taking a moment to admire Morgan's smile.  Isn't it the best?  Love the piggies, too!   Liza also sent me these photos from last week's orchestra/choir concert:

Apparently, the young man sitting next to Jake told him that he looked like "James Bond" in his suit.  I have to agree--Jake really knows how to rock the clothes!  Riley was very excited about winning the cross-stitched cat pillow and has requested lessons in how to "make pictures on fabric."  Your wish is my command, Riley.  When we are all in San Antonio next month we will do some stitching!

And, finally, here is a photo of Brooke looking very "Tiny Timmish."  We are all relieved that she has recovered well from her broken ankle and no longer needs the crutches:

And, in conclusion, a "consumer beware" tale from Liza.  It seems that last week her van started making a bad noise.  She stopped in after school (with all the kids) at a national brake-repair chain that begins with the letter "M" and asked them to check out the noise while they waited.  They obliged, and told her that her front and rear brakes were shot, her rotors were shot and she needed new hoses to fix a leak in her brake fluid.  Grand total?  $585.00!  She wisely called Jeremy and asked his opinion.  He told her to come home, do not pass go, and they would get a second opinion from a repair shop near Jeremy's work where he has done business before.  The guy at "M" really tried to scare her--told her the brakes could suddenly stop working while she was driving home and that he would never let HIS wife drive a car in that condition.  Somehow, they made it safely home and took the car in for the second opinion.  The new guys ran every check they could think of and found no leaks and no problems with the rotors.  Their estimate?  $160.00!  And...when they picked the van up, they actually only charged them $138.00!!!!!  The van is running perfectly and they have new car repair bffs.

  1. All Eliza's kids have cute smiles and are just darling!
James Bond does look very dashing! Plus playing string instruments is a very cool "Reed Thing" to do! When Harry was in high school he played the bass in the Texas All-State Orchestra.
If Jake was here, Harry would tell him the stories he use to tell our 4 kids...it would be Jake's great great grandpa who use to play the fiddle and his great grandpa played the mandolin, banjo and guitar in the evenings sitting on their porch out in the country near Clovis, New Mexico, after the farm chores were done!
