Eat Your Heart Out, Harry!

Somewhere, my brother-in-law Harry Reed, is a broken man. Oh, I'm sure he's made an effort to act like he doesn't care. He may have even tried to act happy for me. But first runner-up is never quite the same as Miss America (just ask Miss Georgia).

As the reigning Miss Sarcastic, queen of all things cynical and smart-alecky in Reed World, I was happy just to be nominated. But now I have received a prize... Many thanks to Laura for the lovely selection of honey and beeswax-based beauty products. They smell wonderful! But I wonder...is this an attempt to "soften" me up? Or make me "sweeter?" It doesn't matter--I'm just going to rest on my laurels and enjoy the moment.

Thank you, Laura!

On another note...We are having an excellent visit with Sarah, Sean, Ashton and Alvie. Sean is here to do a few gate-building projects and anytime you can combine exotic travel with money-making opportunities it's like falling into a lucky pit. I am doing my best to coerce Sarah into updating her blog (it's only been like 6 months) but in the meantime, here are a few recent photos of the Taylor clan.

  1. What cute, cute boys. Have fun with them.

The beeswax products were made by, and come from, Harvey's brother, Ted's bee business. Until the increase in gas prices,he trucked his hives to California to pollinate the almond trees. Enjoy.

  2. I have tried in vain to be brave in the face of this humiliating defeat. Now that the bitterly fought campaign is over, I am able to accept the truth. None of us could realistically hope to compete with you for this coveted title.

Rest assured that you have earned my complete support, and I will always be here if for any reason you can't fulfill your duties.

  3. I am jealous of the prize you won! Those look cool. Except what is all this about you being sarcastic? I've never noticed (eye roll) :)

  7. Alvie and Ashton are getting so big!!! What beautiful babies. Thanks for posting pics for us. I hate that we all live so far away. I don't know if I could have picked little Alvie out in a baby line up (not suggesting that he would ever actually be in a line up of course) he has changed so much.
