HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZA!

This Cinderella missed the stroke of midight (and a year-end tax deduction) by ten minutes, but Ventura County's New Year Baby of 1976 was well worth the wait! Eliza Florence Reed Clement, we salute you!

In the spirit of Emily's birthday tribute to Eric, I give you five facts about Liza:

1. She worked tirelessly to organize an appreciation week for the teachers at San Jacinto Elementary School where she is the only parent on the advisory board, working with the principal to raise test scores and standards.

2. She campaigned for Mitt Romney in the Panhandle, spending hours on the phone soliciting donations. She received a personal invitation to Romney's recent speech on faith, given at the George Herbert Walker Bush Presidential Library in College Station, TX.

3. She received high school graduation congratulations from Wendy, the Snapple lady and on-air from the cast of Mystery Science Theater 2000.

4. She swam across the Missouri River. Since she was swimming against a strong current, she ended up doing it more lengthwise than crosswise.

5. She holds the international record for the number of times she has gotten lost at Disneyland. (and we won't even get into the whole "lost pants" thing.)

A wonderful wife...

mother...

daughter

  2. Happy Birthday Liza! I love you and look up to you so much.

Liza is the best Reed at calling her siblings and keeping in touch. I could definitely learn a thing or two from her.

She is such a great mom, has such a fun (sometimes wacky) nature and is beautiful as well. Just check out that black and white photo (hot mama!).

  3. Happy birthday to Eliza too!! Kinda funny to post on your mom's blog to wish you a happy birthday, but it looks like you have abandoned yours, and I always make the Clement/Reed/White rounds whenever I get the chance via your neglected blog. You are an AMAZING woman and I love you so much and when I think of how I miss having you around it makes me want to cry and I have only known you a few years, so I can't imagine how your family must feel. Oh, and no matter what you may thing I TOTALLY agree on the hot mama comment, you are one of the most beautiful people I know (both inside and out, of course).

Oh and Sister Reed, thanks for the AR synopses, I have not watched an episode, but I feel fully informed and very interested. I look forward to your updates, and I always seem to be pulling for whomever you are ;)

Thanks for being such a great mom to Liza. I know she is really great about keeping in touch and letting us know how she feels about us, but take it from me, she thinks the world of you and looks up to you more than you could imagine.
