Whose Face is That?

Several of us have commented on the remarkable likenesses in the White family. When you look at the old photo on Emily's blog of Eric's mom, Ann White, with him and his brother Clint, we all think it looks just like Livvy and Abby. I have discovered my own "separated at birth" twosome. Tell me what you think:

Can you identify the subject in each photo?

  1. I know that one of them is Spencer. Is the other dad? I think I have only seen a handful of childhood pictures of dad and that isn't one of them.

  2. I'm not saying whether you are right or not...perhaps there will be a prize for the first person to correctly guess both photos.

  3. My guess is Dad's dad and of course little Spencer. Wow...Carl has shown his face in the world of blogging! When do we get to see a Reed Family Blog??

  4. I am waiting for Sarah and Clare to weigh in before I announce the winner. Anyone want to change their answer?

  5. I think it is Dad's Dad and Spencer. I thought it looked like Dad, but the photo is too old.

  7. Finally...I've found a way to get people to comment on my blogs--bribery!!! Although we haven't yet heard from Sarah, I am ready to declare a WINNER. Remember--the prize goes to the FIRST to weigh in with the correct answer. In this case, that would be Emily. It is indeed Dad's father, Hershall Reed and, of course, Spencer. The prize for this, and all future contests, is a box of Fiddle Faddle. Perhaps there will be a prize for the first person who can correctly explain (or guess) the importance of Fiddle Faddle in our family. Congrats to Clare and Laura for also guessing correctly.

  8. Fiddle Faddle is the holy grail of prizes in the Gappmayer family thanks to Grandma Day who sat her entire posterity down a few years before she died and bequeathed us all with a box of Fiddle Faddle (in all seriousness). Does this earn me two boxes now?

  9. Good job, Emily! Now...a bonus box to the person who can answer this question...At the time she bequeathed Fiddle Faddle to her posterity, Grandma Day bestowed an additional "adults only" prize. Children who tried to get in on this additional prize were severely chastised. What was it?

  10. I'm sure it was some kind of "real fancy" candy like Almond Roca or something.

  11. Sorry, Em--wrong, but you're thinking along the right track.
